Snow Day!

It's a SNOW DAY!!! For the first time in many, many years it snowed in Summerville! When we woke up this morning we were greeted by 5-6 inches of beautiful, white SNOW! Ben and I were so excited...some might even say we were giddy!

Genevieve on the other hand was not so excited. Actually she was rather confused.

It took her a little while to warm up to the idea of being thrust into the new chilly substance, but I think she ended up enjoying her time playing.

Ten Months Old

Genevieve, you're TEN months old!
What are you up to?

• You weigh around 19 pounds.
• You wear a size 3 diaper.
  
• You wear 9-12 months clothing.
• You LOVE being able to eat "big kid" food. You're favorites this month are bananas and yogurt.
• You have been at a new daycare for about a month now. We all absolutely love it! You are in the crawler room, you do a craft project at least once a day, and you have music class once a week.
  
• You sleep very well. You take naps at 10:00, 2:00, and sometimes a catnap at 5:00. Then you go to bed at 7:00. On weekdays when Mommy and Daddy have to go to work we wake you up at 6:00, but on the weekends you usually sleep in until 7:30 or 8:00.
• You are such a people person. You love when we go places because it gives you a chance to watch people. You also draw a lot of attention! We can't go anywhere without someone commenting on how cute you are and a lot of people are mesmerized by your big, beautiful, blue eyes. I don't blame them though...I am too!
• You have TWO teeth now! Your bottom left tooth came in one day before you turned nine months old and the bottom right tooth popped through exactly one week later.
• You are still trying to master crawling. You either push your arms up and keep your knees down or you put your knees up and keep your arms down. This causes you to either scoot backward or scrape your face along the carpet. Both of which are very annoying, I imagine!
• You love to clap you hands, wave goodbye, and blow kisses!
• You have grown by leaps and bounds and we are so proud of you!
  

Ta ta for Now Big Bows

*sigh*
The big bows are going to have to be put away for now. Such a sad day.

Nine Months Old

Genevieve, you're NINE months old!

What are you up to?

• You weigh 18 1/2 pounds.
• You are 26 3/4 inches tall.
• You still wear a size 3 diaper.
• You are transitioning into the 9-12 month sized clothing. However, a couple of your 6-9 months outfits still fit.
• You now have a valid reason to own a toothbrush! That's right, you finally have a tooth! Your bottom, left tooth made it's debut the day before you turned nine months old.
• You make a really cute face now that your gums aren't bare. I'm not exactly sure why you do it, but sometimes when you start laughing you squeeze your eyes closed and scrunch your nose. I think you know you are adorable!
• You now take baths in the big girl tub...without any padded walls to protect you! You love the freedom of the wide open bathtub!
• Finger foods have been a huge hit! Your favorite food right now is grilled cheese sandwiches. Rather than putting all of the pieces on your tray, I have to be careful to only put a few on your tray at a time...otherwise you try to shove all of the pieces into your mouth! You don't really like when I do that, but it is better than choking, my dear.
• You still would rather roll around to get places rather than crawl. However, you can now stand up when we stand you against something.
• You are still such a wonderful baby! Everyday your daddy and I thank God for allowing us to be your parents!

Baby's First Christmas

We had a great Christmas! We began our celebration with Grandad and Nona on Christmas Eve. Genevieve had a great time opening her first presents of the season. She figured out quite quickly that biting the wrapping paper off was the most amusing way to open her presents.

On Christmas morning, Genevieve was so excited to see what Santa brought her!
After opening presents at our house, we then traveled to Yaya and Papa's house for a wonderful brunch. Genevieve had a fabulous time playing with Austin!

We ended our Christmas Day festivities by traveling to Sumter to visit Mammy, Pappy, and Grandmammy. Somehow my camera missed all of the action so I don't have any pictures from our time in Sumter. All in all, we had a wonderful Christmas with our little angel.
